My initial musical interest was with the violin and piano, but I switched to drumming when aged 12. I established myself as a kit drummer playing several seasons in a Blackpool night club, and also the timpanist/percussionist for local orchestras.
I was the drummer for the Methodist Association of Youth Clubs National Orchestra and regularly performed in major venues throughout the UK including The Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London.
I went straight from school to work in the I.T. industry, but after being made redundant in 2004, I decided to pursue a career change into music. As well as teaching drums privately at home and running drumming workshops throughout the North West, I conduct the Fylde Sinfonia Orchestra and am involved in the music ministry at my local church. I am also the county councillor for St Annes North on Lancashire County Council.
I am married with two adult children. For your reassurance, I have been police checked (CRB Enhanced Disclosure) and can provide character references if required.
